LT50 is a low cost but highly antibacterial preservative used in various cosmetics and personal care products. It is effective in inhibiting gram positive and gram negative bacteria, yeasts and molds. Because of its high efficiency at low concentrations, LT50 can coexist completely with cationic, anionic and non-ionic surfactants, emulsifiers and proteins. A series of experiments have proved that the LT50 has remained stable over a long time, a wide range of pH and temperature. Because it is very soluble in water, LT50 can be used in aqueous solution to facilitate production. Because it is colorless and tasteless, it can be used in a variety of formulations:

The main active ingredient of LT50 is the aqueous solution of dihydroxymethylhydantoin, which is an efficient and low-cost bactericide to ensure that the manufacturer can produce cosmetics and personal protective products at a relatively low cost. The cosmetics bath and Fragrance Association (CTFA) is named DMDM hydantoin.

Stability: The samples were stored at -18 ℃, 25 ℃ and 50 ℃ for one year, and the free and total formaldehyde content was detected. It is found that the product of LT50 has no change in composition.

Solubility: Soluble in any water phase. LT50 can also be added to cream, shampoo and face protecting water. It can be added at room temperature or at temperatures up to 80 ℃ for 6 hours without reducing the corrosion resistance. But mixing at high temperature should be carried out in a closed container, preferably in the cooling stage. LT50 can also be added to surfactants that need to be stored for a long time. Its temperature is usually between 50 and 60 ℃ and pH is between 7.5 and 8.5.

Cost: In today's competitive market, cost is the first consideration in the production of cosmetics and personal care products. Compared with other advanced preservatives, the cost of LT50 is lower. At the same time, LT50 consumption is small, but it is a highly effective broad-spectrum antibacterial agent. The cost of your antibacterial agent will be lower so that profits can be increased.
